The Symphony of Wisdom

Writer’s Note: Before you begin reading, please take a deep breath and upon exhaling, make a 360° turn and view your surroundings. As you look all around you, carefully make note of what you see and then take another breath and allow your breathing to come and go naturally. Perhaps you are outside, in a favorite room of your house or at your favorite coffee or tea house. Wherever you are, just take a complete cursory view and then return to the article.

There is an invisible power that surrounds us.

It is in us, through us and of us….but, it is not us.  It is not our own, even though we experience it and it manifests through us in this world. It is known and unknown, seen and unseen. It is even in thoughts and ideas.

We see the effects of it constantly in nature, or in the touch of a loving friend or parent, the voice of a child, a bird building its nest in preparation for its new family, or even an earthworm turning the soil.  Even a beautiful table or a simple unadorned garment can speak of it.

But, alas!  It may be that we still we don’t recognize it. This power is the absolute completeness of All that Is.  This power is in the vibration of our voices - the words we speak - the actions we take – and, just as in nature, is also manifested in and through human lives.

In the English language, this power is called “Wisdom”.   Its name is many, and in other cultures, it is called Chokmah (Hebrew), Sophia (Greek), Sapientia (Latin).  In Orthodox and Roman Catholic Christianity, it is referred to as Hagia Sophia.

Whatever name it is given, Wisdom is alive, is virtuous and carries its own magnificent melodic swaying ….  birth to death and all the in-betweens as all of nature sings the chorus of the Song of Wisdom.

The virtues of Wisdom are several and can be applied equally with Love without recourse.  Yes, Wisdom manifests without much adieu. It is an expression of Life and the living of Life. The energy of Wisdom is beyond knowing, yet itself is knowledge and understanding.

Wisdom is not created.  Wisdom simply is and cannot be experienced by manipulation. Wisdom is an automatic outcome of living and is a grace and humility to be sought by all who seek their course free of great demise.

Wisdom builds up.   It is in the past and present memory of all that has ever existed and is available to each of us on the winds of eternity. If we take a deep breath and without judgment, hear, allow and receive the energy of Wisdom, we are enabled to make the highest and best decisions not just for the benefit of ourselves, but all around us.

Wisdom is a foundation for soul building, a compass always bearing a true direction.  There is so much to be heard, to be seen and felt from the living Wisdom of those around us…neighbors, friends, parents, aunts, uncles, children, grandparents…… and yes, even our pets.

We don’t always recognize Wisdom as Wisdom.   Perhaps we’re looking for some wise and illumined one, some great teacher to come through the airwaves or the latest book.  While these certainly may have and can show us Wisdom, if these are who we are waiting for, then we miss the great percentage of the living Wisdom which is around us every moment. The serenity in the face of an old woman or old man going about their daily business, even if that business is the simple act of just sitting on a bench; or a baby balancing and testing the unlimited possibility of its first step;  a life lived without safety nets, but recognizing the unseen infinite Net of Faith.

The “everyday” lives ---- that’s where Wisdom lives!

The expression of Wisdom is translucent and manifests itself in everyday lives —.right in front of us – right in the midst of our own busy, successful, exciting, creative, painful or perhaps mundane, lives.  If we glimpse or hold onto even a capsule of this Power, how much richer we would be.

Names or words aren’t the Power – but they are the effect or the vessel for the Power which is Wisdom.

Wisdom is the an expression of the Mind of God our Creator.

In all your getting, get Wisdom.
